However, it is being moved to version 2.0.0, a major upgrade, whose release data have not yet been disclosed.
The company also released its AWS SDK Go 2.0 in advance.
AWS stated that the Developer Preview allows you to give feedback and influence the direction for the AWS SDK For Go 2.0 before it goes into production. “Tell us what interests you and what doesn’t.”
Although the preview is intended to encourage developers to give feedback, AWS stated that the new SDK already has many aspects refactored based on feedback received in the previous offering. AWS stated that the SDK has been refactored to improve performance, consistency, and ease-of-use.
AWS stated that the 2.0 SDK’s focus is to improve the SDK’s performance and development experience, make it easy to extend the SDK, and add new features. The Developer Preview changes address the main issues with configuring the SDK, and using AWS service API call.
Developers who are interested in trying the new offering can install it alongside previous 1.x SDKs. AWS has stated that it will not be discontinuing support for these SDKs anytime soon. AWS announced that plans for how the company will continue supporting legacy installations will be made as the Go SDK 2.0 launch date approaches.
